This bowl was left out for the winter, full of water. This is an extreme example, but we were able to easily fix it and get the fountain back in operation!

You will need the following

  1. Mid-grade sandpaper
  2. Spray paint
  3. Clear Sealer Spray (optional)

Many paint and craft stores sell a variety of colors that may provide a close match to your unit. Any brand will suffice, and if painting the entire inside of the bowl is pictured below, the exactness of the color match is not critical. The object is to get it back in…

Spring Cleaning – Extreme Conditions

Here is a great example of what NOT to do with your fountain. This was left out all winter, with no protection. Thankfully it survived, with a crack or two, and some paint damage. With a bit of work, it can be saved.

Using dish soap and rag, wash bowl, pump, and connections. Check to see the small cracks hold water (they can be fixed with epoxy putty). In this case, even though it was left out in a Michigan winter with no protection, it still held water!
